Broadcaster Lee Hyun-yi recently opened up about a shocking moment regarding her son’s behavior in class.
On the 15th, a video titled “What does a son’s mom know? You’ll never know if you haven’t raised a daughter (rebuttals welcome)” was uploaded to the ‘Yeouido Yuktoe Club’ channel.
The video featured comedian Kim Mi-ryeo and Lee Hyun-yi, who have been married for 13 and 14 years respectively, discussing their children’s social lives.
While talking with Sleepy about whether teachers’ compliments should be taken literally or as “coded” messages, Lee Hyun-yi recalled her experience when her firstborn entered first grade.
She shared, “The teacher told me, ‘Yun-seo has such a great personality. He loves his friends and gets along well,’ so I just thanked her.” However, a few weeks later, the teacher called back and said, “He loves his friends so much that… he sits with his back turned to me during class,” delivering a hilarious plot twist.
Lee Hyun-yi added, “He just sits that way because he loves his friends so much. That’s when I realized I shouldn’t take everything literally,” sharing her epiphany.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyun-yi married Samsung Electronics engineer Hong Seong-gi in 2012 and has two sons. The children are reportedly attending a private elementary school.
