Actor Lee Jong-hyuk shared a funny story about his passion for practicing for the play ‘Beginning’ even while dealing with an injury.
A press conference for the play ‘Beginning’ was held on the afternoon of the 15th at LG Arts Center Seoul. Director Pyo Sang-ah and actors Lee Jong-hyuk, Yoo Sun, Lee Chun-hee, and Lee Yoon-ji were all in attendance.
‘Beginning’ is a two-person play that captures the conversations between Danny and Laura, two people who are complete opposites in every way.
Yoo Sun and Lee Yoon-ji take on the role of Laura, a successful career woman who lives with deep loneliness, while Lee Jong-hyuk and Lee Chun-hee play Danny, a man hesitant to start new relationships after a divorce.
During the event, Lee Jong-hyuk shared with an awkward laugh, “I’ve been playing baseball as a hobby for 20 years, and I ended up tearing a calf muscle. When I showed up to the rehearsal room in a cast, Yoo Sun scolded me quite a bit!”
Hearing this, Yoo Sun added, “Jong-hyuk oppa always emphasized that actors should avoid riding motorcycles or skiing during a production. Yet, here he was, injured from baseball! He actually practiced in a cast for nearly two weeks.”
She jokingly continued, “Usually, we’d always go out for drinks after practice, but he stopped doing that to focus on his recovery. I was actually a bit disappointed!”
Lee Jong-hyuk reassured everyone about his injury, adding, “I’ve fully recovered now. I’m very healthy, so please don’t worry.”
‘Beginning’ will be performed starting from the 15th at the LG Arts Center Seoul U+ Stage.
