On the latest episode of ‘Parenting Intern,’ Lee Kyung-kyu indirectly touched upon the topic of Lee Ye-rim’s pregnancy and childbirth.
The tvN STORY show ‘Parenting Intern’ aired on the 14th, featuring Ahn Jung-hwan and Lee Kyung-kyu taking care of 38-month-old Hae-sol and 12-month-old triplets Hae-yoon, Hae-on, and Hae-chan. While the smart Hae-sol made the two men beam with pride, the triplets, who are just a day away from their first birthday, proved to be quite a handful!

Ahn Jung-hwan asked Hae-sol, “How do you tell your siblings apart?” to which Hae-sol replied, “Hae-yoon can stand up, but Hae-on and Hae-chan can’t.” When Lee Kyung-kyu asked who Hae-sol liked best, the little one gave Hae-yoon a big hug and a kiss, saying, “I like Hae-yoon the most. She’s cute and chubby,” making the adults laugh.
Hae-sol quickly called the youthful-looking Ahn Jung-hwan “Uncle.” Lee Kyung-kyu, hoping for something similar, asked, “Am I an uncle or a grandfather?” Hae-sol didn’t hesitate to answer, “Grandpa Kyung-kyu!” Lee Kyung-kyu simply accepted his fate, replying, “Right, Grandpa Kyung-kyu.”
Meanwhile, Ahn Jung-hwan teased him, saying, “Lee Kyung-kyu is only holding the nicest baby.” Lee Kyung-kyu, who was happily cuddling the quietest of the triplets, Hae-on, retorted, “Hae-on is just staying still!”

Special helper Kim Poong also joined the fray! As a father to a 5-year-old son, Kim Poong wanted to share some pro parenting tips, but he first had to help Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan with the basics, like changing diapers and holding the babies. He shared a tip about bibs, noting that they can be too hot in summer and stifling in winter, especially for kids with atopy. After the babies fell asleep, he told a cautious Lee Kyung-kyu, “Boys tend to fidget when they wake up. I’ve got some experience since I had my child after 40, so parenting is all I do these days.”
Kim Poong encouraged Lee Kyung-kyu, saying, “Lee Kyung-kyu is actually good at parenting. Enjoying it is more important than talent. You’re just a bit clumsy,” which Lee Kyung-kyu took to heart.

The conversation then turned to ‘late-life parenting’ and ‘twilight parenting,’ sparking curiosity about Lee Ye-rim’s pregnancy. Lee Kyung-kyu asked Kim Poong, “You have a five-year-old son, how about having triplets?” to which a bewildered Kim Poong asked, “Would you be the one watching them then?” Lee Kyung-kyu remarked, “In the end, children are all you have,” while Ahn Jung-hwan teased, “I heard you’re preparing for a late child? Working out and quitting alcohol?” leading to a ‘twilight parenting’ caption on screen.
Kim Poong also asked, “Is there any news from Ye-rim’s side?” While Lee Ye-rim has previously mentioned being DINK (Double Income, No Kids) and avoided a direct answer on ‘Parenting Intern,’ Lee Kyung-kyu shut it down with a firm “None!” He added, “I’m doing ‘Parenting Intern’ to prepare for twilight parenting, and it’s actually more fun than I thought,” keeping his answer light so as not to put his daughter on the spot.
