Lee Kyung-kyu has finally spoken out regarding the rumors surrounding his health.
On the 23rd, a video titled “This time it’s definitely Ttaeng-geurang! Upgraded rules + new carrots… Kyung-kyu vs Yong-man vs Je-dong!” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Kim Guk-jin Kim Yong-man’s Road’.
In the video, Lee Kyung-kyu recalled a recent golf outing, saying, “My throat wasn’t in good shape toward the end. Then, a friend of a younger acquaintance called that friend and asked, ‘Is Kyung-kyu hyung having a stroke? His speech is very slurred.'”
Hearing this, Kim Yong-man laughed and noted that many articles about health rumors had surfaced. Lee Kyung-kyu reacted indignantly, stating, “I wasn’t slurring. I just lost my voice because I was angry!”
Kim Yong-man explained the situation, saying, “During the last outing, Lee Kyung-kyu practiced for three hours the day before. He was still a bit anxious, so he called Pro Choi at 8 AM to practice more. But as soon as they started, he hit 8 over in just 4 holes. He was so furious that he screamed every time he moved.”
Lee Kyung-kyu admitted that he couldn’t speak because his voice was gone, while Kim Yong-man dismissed the rumors, adding, “He recently had a health checkup, and the results came back perfectly normal.”
Recently, fans expressed concern over Lee Kyung-kyu’s slurred pronunciation and pale complexion in YouTube content. The rumors spread quickly as his history of receiving a stent procedure for myocardial infarction in 2013 was brought back into the spotlight.
Regarding this, Lee Kyung-kyu’s agency clarified, “He had some issues with his condition due to long filming hours for content involving childcare and fishing,” and added, “There are currently no major problems with his health.”
