Lee Kyung-kyu Shuts Down Health Rumors With Energetic Live Appearance!

Entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu has personally put an end to health rumors that have surfaced once again. While suspicions of brain disease were raised due to his slurred speech in a recent YouTube video, both his agency and Lee himself appeared in high spirits to calm the concerns.

The controversy began with a video uploaded on May 7 to the YouTube channel ‘God Kyung-kyu’. In the video, Lee Kyung-kyu met with a diabetes specialist to discuss blood sugar management and health, confessing, “The war with diabetes began five years ago,” and adding, “My quality of life has completely hit rock bottom. There’s almost nothing I can eat.”

However, some viewers began mentioning the possibility of a cerebral hemorrhage or brain disease, claiming that Lee’s speech seemed more slurred than usual and his reaction speed appeared slow. Rumors about his health spread rapidly as some also noted that his complexion didn’t look great.

On the 12th, a representative for Lee Kyung-kyu drew a clear line regarding the health rumors, stating, “It is not true.” They added, “Since there is a live broadcast today, you will be able to see for yourself that the health rumors are false.” The agency explained that it was merely a “temporary dip in condition due to lack of sleep,” warning against overinterpretation.

That same evening, Lee Kyung-kyu appeared on the KBS1 live broadcast ‘2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup D-30 For Victory,’ effectively dispelling health concerns. Appearing alongside announcers Eom Ji-in and Nam Hyun-jong, Lee hosted the show naturally with clear pronunciation and his signature high energy. He showed a vibrant side, even revealing his plans to be dispatched to the World Cup, saying, “I plan to go to Guadalajara, Mexico, to report on the atmosphere on the ground.”

He led the atmosphere with a joke, explaining the tournament’s features by saying, “This World Cup has 48 participating countries, so there are many matches,” and adding, “The atmosphere hasn’t fully heated up yet, but the fever is rising now.”

Lee Kyung-kyu was previously caught up in health rumors in 2024 due to a wrinkle on his ear. The controversy grew after a netizen posted that “earlobe wrinkles can be a precursor to cerebral hemorrhage or myocardial infarction,” leading Lee to reveal that he even underwent an MRI scan. At the time, he clarified, “The test results showed I’m perfectly fine,” and told fans, “Please don’t worry too much.”
