Broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu has personally addressed the recent rumors regarding his health, putting fans’ minds at ease.
On the 12th, Lee Kyung-kyu’s agency, ADG Company, released an official statement saying, “The health rumors are completely groundless,” and added, “Lee Kyung-kyu’s current health status is very good.”
The controversy began with a video uploaded to Lee Kyung-kyu’s YouTube channel, ‘God Kyung-kyu,’ on the 7th. In the video, he discussed the importance of managing diabetes with a specialist. He shared that he has been “in a war” since being diagnosed as pre-diabetic five years ago, lamenting that his quality of life has hit rock bottom because he cannot eat whatever he wants.
However, some netizens who watched the video expressed concern, pointing out his slurred speech and stiff facial expressions. As his past history of receiving a stent procedure for myocardial infarction resurfaced, rumors quickly spread that these might be warning signs of cerebrovascular disease.
In response, an agency official emphasized, “He was simply in poor condition due to a lack of sleep during the YouTube filming.” They added, “He is in a state where there are no health issues, to the point where he is handling his role as a KBS live broadcast MC today without any problems.”
