Lee Kyung-kyu Urges Fans to Cheer Loudly for Korea in the 2026 World Cup!

“We need to cheer for Korea without any hesitation!”

Entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu (66), who is famous for his immense love for soccer, shared this heartfelt plea to the public ahead of the 2026 North and Central America World Cup.

Having previously spread the joy of cheering culture through his own variety show ‘Lee Kyung-kyu Goes’, Lee is teaming up with KBS to head to Mexico this June during the World Cup.

Appearing on the KBS 1TV live broadcast ‘2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup D-30 For Victory!’ on the 12th, Lee announced, “I’ll be heading to Guadalajara, Mexico, to bring you the vivid atmosphere on the ground. I’ve been visiting World Cup sites since 1994, and I’m going again with KBS.” With both JTBC and KBS broadcasting this tournament, some worried that public interest might be split. To this, Lee emphasized, “You shouldn’t hesitate. We must cheer voluntarily!” as he shouted “Dae-han-min-guk!”

Meanwhile, Lee recently faced health rumors after appearing with slightly slurred speech in a video uploaded to his personal YouTube channel on the 7th. His agency quickly dismissed the concerns, stating, “He was simply not in the best condition on the day of filming, but there are no issues with his health.”
