Actress Lee Som shared her heartfelt thoughts as ‘Shin Irang Law Firm’ came to an end.
After wrapping up the 16-episode journey of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Shin Irang Law Firm’ on the 2nd, Lee Som, who played elite lawyer Han Na-hyun, expressed her gratitude to viewers and her feelings about saying goodbye to the character through her agency, Management mmm, on the 4th.
Lee Som shared, “I want to thank the viewers who loved and stayed with ‘Shin Irang Law Firm’ for eight weeks.” She added, “Through this work, I’ve come to think once again about how important it is to listen to someone’s story. I hope that meaning was well-conveyed to the viewers as well.”
She also asked for anticipation for her future activities, saying, “I will return with a new work and a new character.”
In the drama, Han Na-hyun was like a bulldozer who chased only reason, facts, and winning cases, earning her the nickname ‘Cold Na-hyun’ in the beginning. However, Lee Som added depth to the character by capturing the hidden wounds and pain behind the cold exterior with delicate gazes and expressions. In particular, the emotional arc of longing for her deceased sister, their reunion, and subsequent parting, combined with Lee Som’s restrained acting, brought tears to viewers’ eyes.
Her romantic chemistry was also a highlight. The playful banter with her rival, Shin Irang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), provided delightful excitement amidst the tense courtroom drama. The natural portrayal of their process of gradually falling for each other after a period of denying their feelings received a great response from viewers.
Having once again proven her wide acting spectrum through the drama, Lee Som will continue her hard-working streak by returning to the big screen in the movie ‘Pamun’, scheduled for release next year.
Meanwhile, the drama ‘Brave New World’, starring Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun, will air starting the 8th as the successor to ‘Shin Irang Law Firm’.
