Lee Yeon recently opened up about her co-star Byeon Woo-seok!
On the May 9 broadcast of MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View’, Lee Yeon and Choi Kang-hee made an appearance.
During the episode, Lee Yeon was seen using public transportation, revealing that her driver’s license had been canceled. She confessed, “It’s not that I did something wrong, I just didn’t know I had to renew it. No one told me.” She then headed to her hideout, which she explained was a space where she once ran a pop-up cafe. Her manager added that she earned a barista certification during her break between projects and operated the cafe after an acquaintance offered her the first floor of a building.
Soon after, Lee Yeon’s best male friend, Lee Jong-won, appeared. Lee Yeon shared that they were previously in the same agency and get along incredibly well, noting that he has visited her cafe more than ten times. Lee Jong-won congratulated her on the success of her current drama, ’21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’, mentioning its strong viewership ratings.
Lee Yeon returned the favor by congratulating Lee Jong-won on the success of the movie ‘Salmokji’. Lee Jong-won admitted he still feels dazed, saying, “It’s my first feature film, so I keep wondering if this is really happening.”
Mentioning Lee Jong-won’s role in MBC’s ‘Knight Flower’, Lee Yeon called him her MBC senior and praised the show’s amazing ratings. Lee Jong-won joked, “We had the highest ratings among MBC Friday-Saturday dramas. We’re being threatened by ‘Grand Prince’s Wife’ now, but since you’re in it, I don’t see it as a threat.”
The two shared a funny dynamic regarding fashion, with Lee Yeon joking that she needs to raid his closet. Lee Jong-won teased, “I heard a rumor that my closet is actually your closet?” to which Lee Yeon explained, “Jong-won oppa has so many clothes. When he gathers the ones he doesn’t wear, I go through them and take what I want.”
Lee Yeon also recalled a joint photoshoot with IU. She remembered, “IU sunbae is so fair and white. At the time of the shoot, I had been running a lot, so I was quite tanned. When we put our arms together, she was so white and I was so dark.” When she asked how IU stayed so fair, IU reportedly replied, “It’s because I don’t leave the house.” Lee Yeon noted they are polar opposites, as she spends most of her time outdoors while IU prefers staying inside.
Sharing how she became close with IU, Lee Yeon said, “I was the one who started the conversation. In the beginning, there were many scenes inside a car, and we were alone while waiting. I kept asking her questions.” She added, “When filming drags on, you have to keep your energy up, so I started singing and jumping around. Woo-seok sunbae joined in and jumped with us too.”
When asked if Byeon Woo-seok is truly handsome, Lee Yeon enthusiastically confirmed, “He’s really handsome.” She added, “He’s so tall that every time I see him, I honestly ask, ‘Are you over 2 meters?’ He seems to grow even taller every time I see him. The height difference is just so unfamiliar.”
