Actress Lee Yeon was deeply moved by the generous gifts and thoughtful advice from IU.
In the May 9th episode of MBC’s variety show ‘Omniscient Interfering View’, the daily life of trending actress Lee Yeon, who is making a strong impression across both movies and dramas, was revealed.
Lee Yeon shared that she spent time with IU on Lunar New Year, eating tteokguk made by the singer and taking a walk together. IU recalled, “Since there weren’t many people, we walked through Cheongdam-dong. You kept looking at a clothing store, so I thought, ‘Yeon must like these clothes,’ and asked, ‘Do you want to go in and look?’ Even though you said ‘No,’ you kept looking.”
IU eventually gifted clothes from that brand for Lee Yeon’s birthday, praising her by saying, “It looked so good on you,” while adding with a bit of regret, “I should have gotten you some short-sleeved ones too.”
IU’s generosity didn’t stop there. Lee Yeon caught everyone’s attention by mentioning the various gifts she has received, saying, “My house is full of gifts from Jieun-sunbae, including a speaker and a passport case she gave me during filming.”
Lee Yeon added that she is grateful for more than just the material gifts. “At first, I wanted to treat her, so I bought her meals, but one day sunbae told me seriously that if I keep spending money based on my mood, I won’t be able to save. She told me not to think about spending money when meeting her. I still try to treat her occasionally, but I’m just so grateful.”
