‘Human Documentary Love’ is making a comeback, and it is already sparking huge interest as Dr. Oh Eun-young was seen sobbing during the recording.
MBC announced on May 13 that ‘Oh Eun-young Report’ will bring special stories to viewers in honor of Family Month. The two-part special, ‘Oh Eun-young Report – Love Again,’ airing May 18 and 25 at 9 PM, is an ambitious project by the MBC Current Affairs and Education Bureau to revive the original intent of ‘Human Documentary Love’ for 2026.
This special will explore the meaning of true love through the lives of those who endure each day in the name of family, even in the face of illness, accidents, and unexpected tragedies.
The first part, airing May 18, introduces the story of a wife with terminal stomach cancer. The story previously went viral and even hit the news when her husband recruited users through an online community to be “killed” by his game-loving wife. Many users volunteered to be killed in the game while wishing for her recovery, creating a touching scene. Everyone is now curious to see where the couple stands now, with their pure love drawing comparisons to the legendary ‘You Are My Destiny’ episode of ‘Human Documentary Love.’
The second part, airing May 25, reveals the story of a husband who lost both legs and his left arm in a dump truck accident and was losing his will to live. However, he has a wife who gives him courage with unwavering love, telling him, “Thank you for staying alive.” The pure hearts of their 7-year-old twin daughters waiting for their father are expected to add even more emotion.
In the previously released trailer, Dr. Oh Eun-young was captured unable to hold back her tears. It is reported that during the recording, she was unable to speak for a while, saying, “I shouldn’t be like this… I’m the one who should be counseling.” It was almost the first time in the history of ‘Oh Eun-young Report’ that a counseling session was at risk of being interrupted.
The production team of ‘Oh Eun-young Report – Love Again’ stated, “While the original ‘Human Documentary Love’ focused on showing the protagonists’ stories, the ‘Love Again’ series will use the meetings between Dr. Oh Eun-young and the participants to reflect on pain and wounds together and suggest ways to overcome psychological and realistic difficulties.” They added, “The story of couples who do not let go of each other’s hands even in moments of despair will deliver a deep sense of emotion.”
