Broadcaster MC Ding Dong (real name Heo Yong-un) has apologized for the controversy surrounding the assault of a female guest during a live internet broadcast.
On the afternoon of the 26th, MC Ding Dong posted an apology on his Instagram, stating, “I sincerely bow my head and apologize for causing great fatigue and disappointment to many people due to my rash and immature behavior.”
He continued, “As a broadcaster, I should have handled the situation responsibly without losing my cool, but I showed an unfortunate side because I couldn’t control my emotions in the moment. This is clearly my fault, and there is no excuse.” He further shared, “I have sincerely apologized for my rude and lacking behavior, and we have candidly cleared up misunderstandings, acknowledged each other’s mistakes, and agreed to support one another’s futures.”
MC Ding Dong also added a request: “I will fully take responsibility and accept the harsh words and criticism from the public regarding my mistakes. However, from this moment on, I will no longer overlook the creation and distribution of malicious rumors that differ from the facts, or the posting of indiscriminate hate comments toward my family and acquaintances, and I plan to take legal action without leniency.”
He bowed his head once more, saying, “I sincerely apologize again to everyone who felt uncomfortable because of my actions. I am sorry.”
Previously, controversy erupted when MC Ding Dong assaulted a female guest during a live internet broadcast in the “Excel broadcast” format, where guests compete by revealing real-time donation rankings.
Following the incident, BJ A filed a lawsuit against MC Ding Dong, stating, “I am currently receiving psychiatric counseling for PTSD and panic symptoms, and I received a medical certificate for injuries requiring two weeks of treatment. I have hired a lawyer and already submitted the complaint.”
MC Ding Dong had previously stated, “As this is a matter currently undergoing investigation and legal proceedings, unverified speculative claims or the redistribution of one-sided content could cause further harm. Please refrain from indiscriminate sharing and slander until the facts are confirmed.”
