Actress Moon Ga-young has claimed the Best Actress trophy alongside her very first nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards! This achievement is even more meaningful as it marks her 20th anniversary since debuting as a child actress and her return to a lead screen role after 10 years.
At the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 8, Moon Ga-young won the Best Actress award in the film category for her role in ‘If We’. By turning her first nomination into a win, she has firmly established her position as a leading screen actress.

Taking the stage, Moon Ga-young first expressed her gratitude to co-star Koo Kyo-hwan and Director Kim Do-young. She shared, “Thanks to the director, who opened the way for me to run freely and laughed and cried with me on set, I never felt lonely in any moment of my acting.”
She continued, “As senior Koo Kyo-hwan said that we acted for each other even in the moments we couldn’t see, this award belongs to him. Thank you for being such a reliable support.”

She also shared her thoughts on her 20th debut anniversary, stating, “I’m celebrating my 20th anniversary as an actress this year, and I will continue to be an actress who grows proudly. I will gather the hearts given to me by the audience who loved our movie and continue to live while portraying numerous lives and characters.”
Moon Ga-young played the role of Han Jung-won in the film ‘If We’, which was released last December. She captivated audiences by building up the complex emotions of love, breakup, and youth without exaggeration. Her delicate portrayal of realistic romantic feelings led to reactions calling it “the rediscovery of Moon Ga-young.”
