Moon Sang-hoon Shares 10-Year Journey of BDNS & Lee Sang-hoon Gets Emotional at Taku Museum on 'Omniscient Interfering View'

“Romantic Boy” Moon Sang-hoon and the “Yoo Jae-suk of the toy world” Lee Sang-hoon shared their daily lives where romance and fandom become reality on MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View’.

In the 398th episode of the MBC variety show ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ aired on Saturday the 16th, the show featured Moon Sang-hoon, the frontman of the channel ‘BDNS’ (boasting 2.4 million subscribers and 1.7 billion cumulative views), and Lee Sang-hoon, a top collector who turns his passion into donations.

Moon Sang-hoon looked back at his appearance 8 years ago in Yoo Byung-jae’s segment, where he appeared as “that guy next to him” performing the “Donkatsu Rap.” He received cheers from the cast for returning as the main guest after 8 years.

At age 26, while his friends were busy preparing for employment, Moon Sang-hoon and PD Kim Jin-hyuk used their savings to buy a camera and laptop to start ‘BDNS’. They have since built a content company with over 2,000 videos and 2.4 million subscribers. The 10-year synergy between Moon’s quirky ideas and PD Kim’s realistic planning was the driving force that allowed them to rent an entire four-story building. In an office filled with his dreams, Moon continues to create content with his eccentric and brilliant ideas.

His special connection with Yoo Byung-jae, which began when he was struggling to find answers after starting the channel, also caught attention. A message he sent led to his participation in Yoo Byung-jae’s content ‘Literature Night’. Much like the duo of Yoo Byung-jae and Yoo Gyu-seon, Moon learned the entire process of turning ideas into content. Consequently, Moon Sang-hoon and PD Kim Jin-hyuk expressed their gratitude by calling Yoo Byung-jae “our father.”

Moon Sang-hoon’s romanticism peaked at the Jeonju International Film Festival. Deciding to import a movie he loved, he found the gem ‘Nirvana the Band’ at the Cannes Film Market and held its first screening. After a year of preparation, the moment the BDNS logo (originally sketched in pencil on A4 paper in his studio apartment) appeared on the screen and the audience reacted with laughter, Moon was deeply moved, saying, “It was so thrilling.” PD Kim Jin-hyuk told him, “I sincerely support your many romances and dreams,” and Moon replied, “Thank you so much for accepting my imaginations without doubt, even when my parents doubted them.” Together, they continue their ongoing “romantic movie” created over the last 10 years.

Lee Sang-hoon’s segment began with an update on his museum, which saw a surge in popularity after his previous appearance. He expressed gratitude, noting that the average number of visitors tripled and even increased sevenfold immediately after the broadcast, leading to waiting lines. He then headed to his private warehouse to prepare for the donation flea market he holds every May. Laughter ensued as he struggled to let go of cherished items, such as an Iron Man mask and a Star Wars lightsaber gifted by singer Kang Daniel.

This flea market held special meaning as it was linked to a children’s hospital and grew to its largest scale yet, with 62 teams participating. Around 2,000 people from across the country filled the venue. With contributions from fellow comedians Im Woo-il, Park Sung-kwang, Heo Kyung-hwan, Kim Jae-woo, and Park Seul-gi, combined with his own funds, a total of 20 million won was donated to the children’s hospital. It was a result of a world dominated by “deokhus” (hardcore fans) leading to a positive influence.

After the market, Lee Sang-hoon headed somewhere to “heal.” It was the ‘Taku Museum’ of another fan discovered through his content ‘Deok-huni Road’. The figures filling all four walls of every floor of a residential house left even top collector Lee Sang-hoon speechless. Moreover, the collector, who started their collection using Lee Sang-hoon’s toy museum as a model, regularly supports Lee Sang-hoon’s channel and even donated the allowance they received from their wife to buy toys. Facing someone who sincerely supports him, Lee Sang-hoon was moved to tears. The day of the “two Sang-hoons,” who pushed their passions to the end, provided a hopeful weekend where imagined romance became reality and the value of fandom was proven through sharing.

Next week’s episode will reveal the daily lives of singer Dayoung, who undergoes a bold transformation with a “hot girl” concept, and the return of “Ju-pal-i” Lee Ju-yeon. Dayoung will show her “determined” side with a relentless morning routine: waking up at 5 AM, studying English, meeting with a US producer, receiving feedback from the company’s A&R team, and exercising on an empty stomach. She is also expected to visit the SM building to film a challenge with RIIZE, showing her side as a challenge master. Meanwhile, Lee Ju-yeon, who previously gained attention for her quirky charm and her father’s bold wit, will show her maximalist daily life, from preparing her nephew for school on behalf of her busy sister to preparing for a flea market. With Jun Hyun-moo also appearing, Ju-yeon’s day, where both her quirkiness and daily life are at maximum, is expected to add delightful laughter.

Meanwhile, ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ airs every Saturday night at 11:10 PM on MBC.
