“More Beautiful Because We Can’t Go Back”: Roy Kim Shares Sincere Heart via Handwritten Letter

Roy Kim is set to release his remake album ‘Bloom Again’ (다시 불러 봄) on the 20th at 6 PM.

Ahead of the release, Roy Kim shared a self-written introduction to highlight the sincerity of the project. The introduction was presented as handwritten drawings, vividly conveying his deep emotions and personal narrative.

The album is themed “For you who have become an adult, for today that has grown dull in the name of being an adult, to find the romance I had forgotten.” Roy Kim’s starting point was reflecting on “time” and “growth.” The introduction begins with the phrase, “The world seen with clear eyes, greener than green, always seemed like it would be just,” calmly exploring the gap between past innocence and present reality.

He delicately expressed the complex emotions of adulthood, confessing, “The current picture filled with decisions to protect my life through a certain amount of compromise and experience… I feel sad thinking it might be the longing sigh of a coward wearing the mask of wisdom.”

Roy Kim explained, “I planned this remake album to face the past, which was too fierce to live through again, and the times that feel more beautiful because we cannot go back, through music.” He shared his heart, saying, “I hope the version of you that had quietly shrunk will sing along with me now.”

The album features six tracks, starting with ‘No Encore Request’ (앵콜요청금지), which carries the message that “what can’t be done, can’t be done.” It concludes with ‘Song of the Wind’ (바람의 노래), which delivers the message that “love” is what ultimately remains after journeying through various emotions like joy, sadness, gratitude, and longing. Roy Kim personally explained the meaning of each track, reflecting on why he is singing them again today.
