Music Bank is Heading to the National Museum of Korea! KBS Announces Special Partnership

Could we actually see Music Bank at the National Museum of Korea?

On the 7th, KBS and the National Museum of Korea announced they are teaming up to ensure the success of the World Public Service Broadcasting General Assembly taking place in Seoul this October, while also promoting Korean cultural heritage globally.

KBS President Park Jang-beom and National Museum of Korea Director Yu Hong-jun signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly pursue various cultural cooperation projects.

With the General Assembly focusing on “The Role of Public Media for the Revival of Tradition and Culture,” the two organizations plan to showcase Music Bank in the outdoor area of the National Museum of Korea to introduce Korean traditional culture and art to public broadcasting leaders from around the world.

Director Yu Hong-jun shared, “I believe that having the opportunity to inform the entire nation about the significance of the artifacts held by the National Museum of Korea through public broadcasting is the best promotional effect for our museum to reach the people.” He added that he was happy to sign the agreement.

KBS President Park Jang-beom stated, “The heart and source of the K-Wave is our culture, and the National Museum of Korea is where the essence of that culture is gathered.” He expressed hope that many tourists would visit since Music Bank will be held as a free performance. He also thanked Director Yu Hong-jun for providing the opportunity to host the PBI General Assembly’s premier event, bringing together K-pop and broadcasting officials at the museum.
