‘Detective’s Trade Secrets’ is set to reveal the shocking full story of a dog’s death mystery, featuring the largest mobilization of personnel to date, including animal detectives and dozens of police officers!
In the ‘Detective 24 Hours’ segment of Channel A’s ‘Detective’s Trade Secrets’ airing Monday the 4th at 10 PM, Professor Kim Hyo-jin, a dog trainer and rescue expert known as the “Animal Detective,” shares a heartbreaking case. It all started with a report to an animal rescue organization: “A temporary caregiver disappeared after sending a single text saying the dog died.” The client had been living like family with their 5-year-old Golden Doodle, Gureumi (pseudonym), but had to leave for an overseas assignment in October 2024. Due to complex transport procedures, the owner found a temporary caregiver through a large-dog open chat. Trusting the person who claimed to live in a spacious duplex with eight large dogs, the owner left Gureumi in their care. For a while, Gureumi seemed well-managed and even gained weight. However, trouble began in August 2025 during preparations for overseas transport. The caregiver repeatedly delayed the schedule, citing personal reasons, and eventually went completely silent in December. Then, on December 27, the missing caregiver sent a shocking text: “Gureumi has died.”
The caregiver claimed Gureumi died at a hospital after eating something foreign during a walk and that the funeral and cremation were already complete. However, no evidence, such as a death certificate or photos, was provided, and the mentioned animal hospital denied that any such treatment took place. Suspicion grew further when another tip emerged, stating, “This person has done this before.” Upon rushing back to Korea to visit the caregiver’s home, the owner faced an even more grim scene. They testified that “the smell in the hallway was so strong it was hard to breathe,” leading Defconn to wonder if it was the smell of a corpse, while Yoo In-na expressed fear that a terrible story was unfolding. Although computer game sounds were heard from inside the house, the door never opened, and the owner had to leave Korea again without even confirming Gureumi’s fate. Now, two months have passed with zero contact. The owner desperately pleaded, “If Gureumi is alive, please rescue them; if they’ve passed, I just want to find the body and give them a proper send-off.” The Animal Detective is now tracking the movements of the caregiver, a woman in her early 30s who lives alone in an apartment with several large dogs. The truth behind this mystery will be revealed on the show.
Meanwhile, this episode features “Korea’s No. 1 Travel Creator” Pani Bottle, who boasts 2.55 million subscribers and 685 million cumulative views, as a one-day detective! Pani Bottle decided to appear after a suggestion from close friend Kim Poong, expressing deep trust in him as a “big brother figure” to turn to for life advice. When Kim Poong mentioned giving Pani Bottle interior design advice, Defconn sparked laughter by asking, “Weren’t you the one who got ripped off?” To which Kim Poong slyly responded, “Only the person who got ripped off knows,” while Pani Bottle defended him, saying things went well. However, Pani Bottle later exposed that “you need to clear at least two hours of your schedule to have a conversation with Kim Poong,” and Kim Poong admitted he “pretends to give advice while actually venting,” causing the set to erupt in laughter. Yoo In-na’s praise for Pani Bottle’s “genius” naming sense can be seen on Channel A’s ‘Detective’s Trade Secrets’ this Monday, May 4th, at 10 PM.
