“No. 1” Choi Mina-soo’s Pride Hurt? ‘Kill It’ Kicks Off with a Dopamine Rush!

It is an intense start!

The premiere of tvN’s ‘Kill It: Style Creator Great War’ (hereafter ‘Kill It’) on the 12th depicted the beginning of a fashion war featuring 100 of the hottest creators in the fashion scene.

The episode began strongly, highlighting the 100 suitcases brought by participants as their survival weapons. Then, 100 participants appeared on a stage resembling a runway, starting with ‘model’ Jae-in and ending with Choi Mina-soo, who raised the tension by appearing with the keyword ‘No. 1’.

Next, the leaders of each label appeared: Jang Yoon-ju, Lee Jong-won, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Yeonjun for ‘Black Label’; Cha Jung-won and Shin Hyun-ji for ‘White Label’; and Ahn Ah-reum and Yang-gaeng for ‘Red Label’. Immediately, the Round 1 style war began, where only 50 would survive.

The ‘Photogenic’ mission required participants to complete self-styling within 60 minutes. The winners were selected based on the number of photos taken by 40 photographers on the spot and the 6 picks from the three labels.

Just two minutes into the mission, Yoyo took the stage, turning even the act of putting on shoes into a performance. Yeo Yeon-hee and Bae Yoon-ji also quickly took the stage, grabbing the photographers’ attention early on.

Jung Ri-ah, known as ‘Huening Kai’s sister’, who took the stage with Dasha, confessed, “I don’t think I can get over the shock,” after realizing not a single person was photographing her.

Choi Mina-soo used a ‘build-up strategy’ with a relaxed walk on an empty stage, drawing a flurry of shutters. However, when Tiara Torelli appeared, the photographers shifted their focus. Choi admitted, “The attention I had was all moving over there, and I didn’t want to stay. My pride is hurt.”

In the latter half, the gap between the standout participants and those who weren’t was stark. Shin Hyun-ji coldly noted, “People who looked prominent on SNS aren’t as visible here,” while Jang Yoon-ju added, “Only those who truly stand out are visible.”

In the mid-evaluation after the first half of Round 1, Dasha, Jae-in, and Tiara Torelli dominated as triple crown winners, chosen by all labels. For the photographer scores, Yoyo took 1st place, followed by Yeo Yeon-hee in 2nd and Dasha in 3rd.

‘Kill It’ captured attention from its first episode with a feast of ‘visual shocks’. The participants’ charming and confident presence was impressive, and the raw competitiveness provided the thrilling excitement typical of survival shows.

The show airs every Tuesday at 10:10 PM and is available on TVING immediately after broadcasting.
