‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ is a dating reality show that captures the romance between successful women who haven’t yet found love due to their intense focus on their careers, and younger men who believe that age is just a number when it comes to love.
The show returns with a fresh makeover since Season 1 last October. Han Hye-jin and Jang Wooyoung return as MCs for the second consecutive season, with DinDin joining the lineup as a new member.
PD Park Jin-woo first discussed the MC casting. Park explained, “Han Hye-jin and Jang Wooyoung have been with us since Season 1. Han Hye-jin is a real-life successful ‘noona.’ From a younger man’s perspective, she’s the kind of woman you’d want to meet and get to know. We cast her again with the hope that she could be the face of our program. As for Jang Wooyoung, he has a great love for ‘Noona is a Woman to Me,’ and I noticed his wit really peaked from the middle of Season 1. We cast him to carry that energy into Season 2.”
Regarding the reason for casting DinDin, the PD replied, “I was impressed by his honest and straightforward nature. I’ve always wanted to work with him. I believe he’s someone who can bring a different color to ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2.’ I’ve heard he’s quite skilled at flirting and can win over most women, so I wanted him to analyze the show from that perspective. Also, we needed the viewpoint of a younger brother who grew up being teased by two older sisters.”
PD Park also pointed out, “‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ has more stimulation and ‘dopamine’ compared to Season 1. Since the cast is the most important part of a dating show, we tried to recruit people who are more proactive and direct with their emotions. Of course, you don’t have to worry about their looks and charm, as we looked into those plenty.”
DinDin added, “Other dating shows feel like ‘Oh my god,’ they’re so pretty and like a drama. I don’t think the guys around me watch them much. I was worried about what I could even say if I were cast, but ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ had points I could relate to. I believe there’s a clear difference.”
DinDin raised expectations by saying, “The pace is fast, so I was really immersed. I’m very satisfied with ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ for that reason alone. The dopamine levels have definitely gone up. It’s like a burst of dopamine in the style of a Short.”
The first episode of ‘Noona is a Woman to Me 2’ will air on the 23rd at 10:40 PM.
