The complicated first meeting of Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, and Heo Sung-tae from 10 years ago is finally being revealed!
MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Fifty Percent’ is an action-comedy about three men who were once famous but have since been weathered by time, now finding themselves back in the same boat. It tells the story of middle-aged pros whose bodies may be rusty, but whose loyalty and instincts are still very much alive. The series is helmed by director Han Dong-hwa, known for ‘Criminal Record’, ‘Navillera’, ‘Miss Lee’, ‘Bad Guys: Vile City’, and ’38 Task Force’.
Stills released ahead of the premiere capture the fateful first meeting of Jung Ho-myung (Shin Ha-kyun), Bulgae (Oh Jung-se), and Kang Beom-ryong (Heo Sung-tae). A scene on a passenger ship in the middle of a stormy night sea catches the eye, as NIS black agent Jung Ho-myung and North Korean agent Bulgae face off in a tense standoff. Their sharp gazes and breathtaking tension immediately dominate the atmosphere.
In particular, Bulgae’s appearance before losing his memory is revealed, sparking curiosity. Fans will be wondering why he, known as North Korea’s top human weapon, was deployed for the mission disguised as a woman. With the addition of Kang Beom-ryong, the second-in-command of the Hwasan Sect, the situation takes an unpredictable turn.
The released scenes highlight the powerful presence of the three actors. Their unwavering gazes and raw energy during the action sequence in the heavy rain tease the intense action vibe of the series.
The production team stated, “This scene shows Ho-myung, Bulgae, and Beom-ryong 10 years ago, setting out to secure an item containing evidence of collusion between a high-ranking North Korean official and Han Kyung-wook (Kim Sang-kyung), the first deputy director of the NIS.” They added, “Please look forward to the first episode to see what happens to the three men’s fates and where the item they were chasing disappeared to.”
