ONEWE (Yonghoon, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Giuk) released a highlight medley for their second single, ‘點 : The Quiver’, through their official YouTube channel on the 24th. The video caught fans’ attention with illustrations featuring objects like compasses and wings that capture the mood of each track.
‘點 : The Quiver’ includes ‘Coordinates’, which depicts a destined meeting as they draw closer to a single coordinate; ‘Compass’, about moving in one direction despite crossed fates; and ‘FLY’, a song about the wish to be remembered by someone.
The title track ‘ICARUS’ is based on a lyrical alternative rock sound, reinterpreting the figure of Icarus from Greek mythology through ONEWE’s own unique lens. The explosive guitar sounds and layered choruses toward the end of the song leave a powerful and lasting impression.
The second single ‘點 : The Quiver’ marks the beginning of a new series themed around points, lines, and planes. The single reportedly captures the tense vibration of a compass needle searching for coordinates and the subtle thrill of encountering an unknown world that has yet to be named, serving as the starting point for a new musical voyage.
As with their previous works, the members are credited across all songs, further solidifying ONEWE’s musical identity. Kanghyun took charge of the lyrics and composition for the title track ‘ICARUS’ and ‘Coordinates’, while Dongmyeong participated in the lyrics and composition of ‘FLY’. Giuk led the production for all tracks on the album. The single will be released on the 28th at 6 PM.
