Actors Ahn So-young and Yoo Hye-ri opened up about the fame and the emotional scars they experienced through the movie ‘Madame Aema’ on the show ‘Special World’.
In the MBN variety program ‘Special World’ aired on the evening of the 14th, Ahn So-young and Yoo Hye-ri, the leading ladies of the ‘Madame Aema’ series, reunited to reminisce about their past careers.
Although they starred in the same series, the two revealed the very different paths they faced afterward. Ahn So-young, the original ‘Madame Aema’, confessed that while the role brought her immense fame, it came at a cost. She shared her struggles, saying, “All my CF deals were cut off after the movie,” and “Some directors even asked me why I chose to do such a project.”

Conversely, Yoo Hye-ri shared that the project served as a turning point in her acting life. Highlighting the positive impact, she stated, “I don’t feel any shame as an actress. In fact, appearing in ‘Madame Aema’ allowed me to pursue acting in earnest and eventually led to me winning the Best Supporting Actress award at the Grand Bell Awards.”
The two also showcased a touching bond between senior and junior. Ahn So-young expressed her affection, saying, “I’ve always felt fond of her since we were part of the same series,” to which Yoo Hye-ri jokingly replied, “Unnie is the original, and I’m the knock-off.” Moving past the ‘Madame Aema’ label, the two actresses created a heartwarming scene as they encouraged one another for their steady journeys in the acting world.
