TVING’s new original series ‘Becoming a Legend Cook Soldier’ (Written by Choi Ryong, Directed by Jo Nam-hyung) is a military cooking fantasy drama. It follows the journey of Private Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon), who swaps a rifle for a kitchen knife and a belt for an apron to become a legendary cook soldier.
‘Becoming a Legend Cook Soldier’ is garnering attention as the next project for Park Ji-hoon, who recently became a “10 million viewer actor” with the film ‘The Man Living with the King’.
In the series, Park Ji-hoon stars as Kang Seong-jae and navigates the bustling life of a military base alongside Yoon Kyung-ho, Han Dong-hee, Lee Hong-nae, and a special appearance by Lee Sang-yi.
Park Ji-hoon expressed his excitement, saying, “It was an honor to work in the same frame as my seniors. I felt comfortable with everyone, and filming was a joy,” highlighting the team’s great chemistry.
Yoon Kyung-ho, who plays First Sergeant Park Jae-young, also mentioned, “The chemistry with both senior and junior actors was great.” He added, “We shared memories of those days, including how to salute, military songs, and even ‘Gundaeria’ (simple burgers made with instant food).”
Han Dong-hee, playing Lieutenant Jo Ye-rin, the commander of the Gangrim Outpost, said, “Everyone was so warm and kind, so we could film happily in a considerate atmosphere. Hearing the other actors’ real-life military stories was especially helpful for my acting.”
Lee Hong-nae, playing Sergeant Yoon Dong-hyun, recalled, “The chemistry with the actors was 100 out of 100. I’ll long remember the cheerful atmosphere where we laughed and joked around a lot during filming.”
Finally, Lee Sang-yi, who makes a special appearance as Company Commander Hwang Seok-ho, confidently stated, “There was nothing but laughter throughout filming. The chemistry of our Gangrim Outpost was absolutely perfect.” He hinted at a strong presence, adding, “I ended up appearing in more scenes than originally planned for my special role, which made the experience even more joyful and happy.”
