Park Ye-young Shines as a Professional Genius and Bestie in 'Sold Out Today'

Park Ye-young is stealing the spotlight in ‘Sold Out Today’ with her perfect balance of work and friendship.

Park Ye-young is delivering a great performance as home shopping PD Eom Seong-mi in the SBS Wed-Thu drama ‘Sold Out Today’.

The drama is a heart-fluttering seasonal romance about ‘life-exhausted’ people, featuring the entanglement of perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (aka Mechuri) (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) and sell-out-focused show host Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin). Park Ye-young’s character, Eom Seong-mi, brings energy to the show as Dam Ye-jin’s reliable friend and an ace PD leading hit home shopping shows.

Park Ye-young maximizes her refreshing charm by vividly portraying Seong-mi’s fiery and straightforward personality. She is receiving praise for perfectly depicting both a supportive friend and a professional ‘work-pro’ PD with her clear speaking style, steady tone, and precise timing.

As an ace PD, Seong-mi showed off her expertise by leading the entire process, from checking storyboards to directing and communication, during the shoot at the White Flower Nuri Mushroom Farm for the launch of ‘L’Etoile Lapin Essence’. Her flexible leadership, being strict about mistakes while offering praise when needed, highlights her professionalism.

Additionally, her comfortable bestie chemistry with Chae Won-bin adds a touch of realism. Park Ye-young naturally blends worry and affection for her friend. Seong-mi shows her warmth by waiting all night in the hallway of Ye-jin’s home when she can’t be reached, and then showering her with relieved nagging the moment she sees her. Her candid yet warm remark, “I’m just worried you’ll run out of juice. Phone batteries are strongest when they’re at 10%, just like you!” reveals Eom Seong-mi’s refreshing sincerity.

Seong-mi’s thoughtfulness is another big charm. During a dinner at the Deokpung Village hall, she created an unexpected heart-fluttering moment by nonchalantly handing seasoned perilla leaves to Gwang-mo (played by Jo Bok-rae). This shy kindness, contrasting with her usual fiery and direct nature, further boosts the character’s charm.
