With the BTS World Tour coming to Busan on June 12 and 13, Busan City’s public accommodation options for international tourists, including temple stays and youth centers, are almost completely booked!
In collaboration with Nol Universe, the city opened reservations for 400 international tourists through the dedicated platform “Nol World” starting on the 27th of last month.
The rates are incredibly affordable: youth centers are just 10,350 KRW per person per night, while the Naewonjeongsa temple stay is 80,500 KRW per person per night, which includes dinner, breakfast, and a temple experience.
As of May 5, reservations at the Gudeok and Geumryeonsan youth centers are nearly full, with only 8-person rooms remaining. Similarly, the Naewonjeongsa temple stay is almost sold out, except for 12-person rooms.
According to Busan City, the booking rate for June 11 to 12 is in the mid-80% range, and for June 12 to 13, it has reached a staggering 99.56%.
This public accommodation initiative was launched for the first time after the city noticed some hotels hiking up prices ahead of the BTS concert.
The city has personally scouted affordable locations, checked the condition of supplies, and even prepared welcome kits for the international fans.
To make travel easier, paid shuttle buses will run from the youth centers and Naewonjeongsa to the Asiad Main Stadium. Additionally, the Busan Global City Foundation will deploy foreign language support staff on-site.
Since these accommodations typically require group bookings rather than individual ones, the city was initially concerned. However, BTS fans showed their amazing teamwork by communicating and forming groups on the spot to secure their spots!
Kim Dong-hoon from Busan City’s Tourism Policy Division stated, “Since this was our first attempt, there were some trials and errors, but thanks to everyone’s help, reservations are nearly complete.” He added, “If there are other large concerts in July or August, we could even utilize university dormitories, setting a great precedent for public accommodation.”
