Singer Pyeon Seung-yeop recently opened up about his daughter, Pyeon Su-ji, who previously served as the leader of the idol group BP Pop.
Pyeon Seung-yeop appeared on MBN’s “Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night” during the episode aired on the 16th.
During the show, he was asked if he had opposed his daughter’s dream of becoming a singer, as many veteran singers tend to discourage their children from entering the industry due to how challenging the path can be.
He revealed that he did not oppose her, confessing, “I caused a lot of pain as a father during the children’s most critical years, so it wasn’t easy for me to stop them from doing what they wanted.” Pyeon has experienced three divorces.
He added, “Everything has its timing, and I believed she was very talented. I felt she needed to experience it firsthand to truly understand.”
It is reported that Pyeon Su-ji is currently running her own nail art shop instead of continuing her career as a singer.
Pyeon Seung-yeop also shared that he has taken responsibility for raising five half-siblings, including Pyeon Su-ji. While he admitted, “I always feel sorry toward my children,” he happily noted that the siblings stay in close contact and share a strong bond.
