Group Queenz Eye has unveiled a tracklist bursting with sparkling Y2K vibes!
On May 15, Queenz Eye released the tracklist image for their second episode album, ‘PRISM EP.02’, via their official SNS. The image maximizes a kitschy and trendy mood with pink retro sensibilities and graphics that bring back memories of 2000s MP3 players.
According to the revealed tracklist, the album will feature a total of seven tracks, including the title song ‘Y2K’, ‘LBD’, ‘THIS IS LOVE (KOR ver.)’, ‘THIS IS LOVE (ENG ver.)’, ‘Y2K (Sped Up ver.)’, ‘Y2K (Inst.)’, and ‘LBD (Inst.)’. The visuals capture attention by visually representing the concept of the title track ‘Y2K’ through pixel fonts, neon colors, and a layout that looks exactly like an old music player screen.
Expectations are soaring as a luxury lineup of producers who have worked on global hits are credited on this album. Overseas producers including Sean Cook, who created Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ (the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard HOT 100), and Jason Hahs, who has worked with RIIZE, IVE, and NCT DREAM, joined in to elevate the album’s quality. Furthermore, the performance quality is boosted by choreographers Root (who worked on aespa’s ‘Dirty Work’, Hearts2Hearts’ ‘FOCUS’, and kiiikiii’s ‘404 (New Era)’) and Ready (who worked on YENA’s ‘Nemo Nemo’ and kiiikiii’s ‘404 (New Era)’).
The title track ‘Y2K’ is a pop anthem that reinterprets the sparkling sensibilities of the early 2000s with a modern style. Featuring an addictive melody, witty lyrics, and free-spirited energy, the song expresses nostalgia for cassette players and a carefree era through Queenz Eye’s unique sensibility.
The B-side ‘LBD’, short for ‘Little Black Dress’, is a dance-pop track capturing a confident attitude. It delivers vibrant energy through a blend of electronic sounds, poppy synth rhythms, and refreshing vocals. Another track, ‘THIS IS LOVE’, captures the fluttering emotions of feeling love for the first time, with members Wonchae and Ayun participating in the lyrics to add sincerity and the team’s own touch.
Meanwhile, pre-orders for Queenz Eye’s ‘PRISM EP.02’ are currently underway through various online sites, and it will be available on major music platforms on May 28 at 6 PM.
