RIIZE member Anton recently shared that his mother, actress Shim Hye-jin, is still as beautiful as ever.
On May 10, the YouTube channel ‘Fairy Jaehyung’ released a video titled “Thank you Father, Thank you Son,” featuring singer Yoon Sang and RIIZE’s Anton as guests chatting with Jung Jae-hyung.
During the conversation, Jung Jae-hyung asked Yoon Sang about his decision to study abroad. Yoon Sang explained that it had been a lifelong dream, and he felt that if he settled into a home in Seoul after marrying Shim Hye-jin, he might never get the chance.
Yoon Sang shared that he decided to start their married life in Boston. However, he revealed a struggle: although he initially received a bass scholarship, he failed the audition once he arrived.
Jung Jae-hyung pointed out how expensive tuition is, to which Yoon Sang agreed. He explained that he eventually earned a merit scholarship based on his first-semester grades. He noted that this was a blessing in disguise, as it pushed him to take his studies more seriously after initially just wanting to take classes he enjoyed.
Yoon Sang added that while the school was easy to enter, it was difficult to graduate, which served as a great motivator. When Jung Jae-hyung asked about the timing of Chanyoung’s (Anton’s) early years, Yoon Sang jokingly replied that he spent his time “farming,” referring to raising his children.
Yoon Sang candidly admitted that his impulsive nature played a part in his decisions, noting that a more planned person might not have started that way. He eventually decided to return to Korea to earn money after their second child was born.
He recalled how lucky he was during his final semester at NYU, receiving a radio offer from KBS and a visiting professor position at a university. He expressed how much he hated being away from his wife, saying they couldn’t stand to be apart for even a moment.
Yoon Sang laughed while recalling his wife’s reaction to the news, saying she simply told him, “Yes, go quickly!” Anton added that he and his mother heard the news together, noting the time difference between the US and Korea.
When Jung Jae-hyung asked about his mother’s beauty, Anton smiled and replied, “She’s still beautiful.” He even encouraged his father, saying, “Dad, you should tell her she’s beautiful more often.” To this, Yoon Sang jokingly replied that doing so would make him look like a doting husband.
