Rising Star Kim Sung-jung to Join the Cast of 'Fifty Percent' as Heo Nam-il!

Actor Kim Sung-jung, who has been on a roll lately, is set to transform into Oh Jung-se’s nephew.

On the 12th, Kim Sung-jung shared the news that he will be appearing in the drama ‘Fifty Percent’ as the repeating student Heo Nam-il.

MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Fifty Percent’ is a salty action-comedy about three men who may look ordinary now but once held significant influence. Brought back together by fate, these true pros, who have already run through 50% of their lives, show that while they may be worn down by the world, their loyalty and instincts are still as sharp as ever.

Kim Sung-jung will play Heo Nam-il, a legendary repeating student at Yeongseon Central High. Nam-il’s bond with Bong Je-soon (played by Oh Jung-se) began in childhood when he saved Bong, who had washed ashore with his grandfather, leading the two to live like uncle and nephew.

Following his grandfather’s death, Nam-il goes through a turbulent phase and displays a rebellious streak, but he will also showcase a surprising charm through a warm heart inherited from his grandfather. Having brought his own unique color to every role, fans are eager to see what new side of Kim Sung-jung will shine in this project.

Kim Sung-jung previously caught everyone’s attention with a powerful presence as part of Keum Sung-je’s (played by Lee Jun-young) gang in the Netflix series ‘Weak Hero Class 2’. He further solidified his status as a rising star with unique acting and popping charm in tvN dramas ‘Gyeon-woo and the Fairy’ and ‘I’ll Give You the Universe’. Recently, he has been building a solid filmography with his casting in the Disney+ series ‘The Miracle of Nimiya General Store’.

MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Fifty Percent’ premieres on Friday the 22nd at 9:50 PM.
