RM Actually Visited! He Even Matched the Outfit... What's the Story Behind the 'Crying Tree' That Surprised Tablo?

RM (born Kim Namjoon) of BTS, who is currently on a North American tour, shared a special certification photo from Stanford University, a spot recommended by his senior, Tablo.

On the 19th, Tablo of Epik High took to his SNS to share the photo, writing, “Namjoon actually went to the Crying Tree.”

In the photo, RM visited the Stanford University campus in San Francisco. He caught everyone’s attention by visiting the exact spot where Tablo had previously filmed and even recreating Tablo’s outfit.

The “Crying Tree” is a location linked to the academic controversy raised in the past by groups such as “TJinYo” (which demanded the truth from Tablo). Tablo had filmed a documentary regarding the controversy. Last year, Epik High revisited the site and named it the “Crying Tree” to represent Tablo’s sadness, turning past pain into humor.

The connection with RM began during an Epik High YouTube content piece released in March. When Suga and RM appeared, Tablo recommended that the two take a group photo at the “Crying Tree” before their performance at Stanford Stadium.

Tablo added that it is “a good place to shake off bad luck.” Netizens who saw Tablo’s post were amazed by RM’s dedication in matching the outfit and cheered for the friendship between the two.

Epik High will hold their first-ever fan meeting on July 4 and 5 at the Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul. Meanwhile, BTS performed at Stanford on the 16th and 17th and will move their stage to Las Vegas on the 23rd.
