Rookie Actor from Song Joong-ki's Agency Steals the Spotlight in Hit Drama 'Heosuabi' with Powerful Performance!

Ryu Hae-jun has perfectly captured the vibe of a rookie detective! Ryu is a rising star from HighZium Studio, the same agency that manages top stars like Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won.

In episodes 7 and 8 of the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Heosuabi’ (aired May 11 and 12), Ryu Hae-jun played the role of Park Dae-ho, the youngest detective at Gangseong Police Station, who stayed loyal to Kang Tae-ju (played by Park Hae-soo). ‘Heosuabi’ is on a roll, with viewership ratings climbing from an initial 2.9% last month to a recent 7.4%!

In the series, Tae-ju let out his pent-up anger at the funeral of Cha Si-young’s (played by Lee Hee-jun) mother. While everyone else avoided him, Dae-ho was the only one who remained by his side. Dae-ho also expressed anxiety over rumors that suspect Lee Ki-beom (played by Song Geon-hee) died due to Tae-ju’s harsh treatment, and the possibility of disciplinary action following the incident.

As the serial murder investigation continued to face difficulties, Tae-ju eventually had to leave Gangseong Police Station. While the prime suspect Lim Seok-man (played by Baek Seung-hwan) was sentenced to death, Dae-ho was honored with a ‘1988 Exemplary Public Servant Citation’. However, instead of looking happy, Dae-ho appeared completely dazed, leaving viewers curious about what happens next.

Ryu Hae-jun delivered a grounded and realistic performance, portraying the frustration, helplessness, and anger felt when a respected senior is treated unfairly. He especially heightened the immersion of the scene with delicate facial expressions, showing Dae-ho’s complex emotions as he struggled to smile despite receiving the award. As he continues to build the character of Park Dae-ho through natural expressions, actions, and speech, fans are excited to see his growth.

‘Heosuabi’ airs every Monday and Tuesday night at 10 PM.
