Ryu Hae-jun Steals the Scene in 'Scarecrow' with Heart-Wrenching Loyalty to Park Hae-soo

Actor Ryu Hae-jun is making a huge impression with his portrayal of the youngest detective’s helplessness and inner turmoil in ‘Scarecrow’.

In episodes 7 and 8 of ENA’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Scarecrow’, we saw the youngest detective at Gangseong Police Station, Park Dae-ho (played by Ryu Hae-jun), providing strong support for his senior, Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo).

Dae-ho stood by Tae-joo’s side as he vented his frustrations at the funeral of Prosecutor Cha Si-young’s (played by Lee Hee-jun) mother. While others avoided Tae-joo, Dae-ho’s decision to stay alone by his side caught everyone’s attention.

Following this, Dae-ho couldn’t hide his worry over rumors that suspect Lee Ki-bum (played by Song Geon-hee) died due to Tae-joo’s harsh treatment, as well as the subsequent disciplinary actions.

Ultimately, Tae-joo had to leave Gangseong Police Station. While the primary suspect, Lim Seok-man (played by Baek Seung-hwan), received a death sentence, Dae-ho was honored with the ‘1988 Exemplary Public Servant Citation’ for his contributions to the serial murder investigation. However, instead of being happy, he appeared completely dazed, leaving viewers curious about what happens next.

Ryu Hae-jun realistically captured a range of emotions, including frustration, helplessness, and anger over the unfair treatment of the senior he respects. His subtle acting, especially his lack of joy upon receiving the award, really helped viewers dive deeper into the story.

With every episode, Ryu Hae-jun is naturally bringing the character of Park Dae-ho to life through his expressions, actions, and speech. As ‘Scarecrow’ continues to receive praise, fans are excited to see his growth as an actor.

Meanwhile, ‘Scarecrow’ is a crime thriller about a detective investigating a serial killer who forms an unexpected partnership with a person he once loathed. Episode 8, which aired on the 12th, recorded a 7.4% rating (Nielsen Korea nationwide paid households), breaking the show’s own viewership record once again.
