
The SBS Cultural Foundation has announced the eight final winners of the ‘2026 SBS Cultural Foundation Screenplay Contest’!
A total of 2,768 entries were submitted across the mini-series and 2-part short/scenario categories. After three rounds of rigorous preliminary and final screenings, eight talented writers were honored with awards.
The prestigious Grand Prize went to writer Gong Ji-eun for “6 Unread Voice Messages”. Along with the trophy, the Grand Prize winner receives a creative support fund of 100 million KRW.
In the mini-series category, writer Wi Ji-won’s “The Standard of Middle-Aged Men These Days” won the Top Excellence Award and a 50 million KRW grant. The Excellence Award went to writer Yeo Myeong-jae’s “Counselor” (30 million KRW), while Honorable Mentions were awarded to writer Kim Da-young’s “Journey” and writer Lee Gwi-nyeo’s “Student Record (School Survival Record)” (15 million KRW each).
For the 2-part short/scenario category, writer Go Ga-young’s “Father Has Not Failed” grabbed the Top Excellence Award (30 million KRW). The Excellence Award was given to writer Lee Do-yoon’s “Asking a Secret” (20 million KRW), and the Honorable Mention went to writer Lee So-ra’s “Indian Summer” (10 million KRW), marking the arrival of promising new talent.
Since 2014, the SBS Cultural Foundation has held this annual screenplay contest to elevate the quality of broadcast content and discover capable writers. The selected writers will have the opportunity to see their works adapted into dramas on SBS, helping to boost the competitiveness of the Korean drama industry.
