Seo In-young Opens Up About Dating and Remarriage: “I Have a ‘Some-Guy’ and Dated 3 People After Divorce!”

Seo In-young Opens Up About Dating and Remarriage:

Former Jewelry member Seo In-young recently sat down with her close senior, singer Lee Ji-hye, to candidly share her feelings and dating life following her divorce.

On May 21, the YouTube channel “Mipji Aneun Gwanjong Unnie” uploaded a video titled “Lee Ji-hye VS Seo In-young: Why did they burst into tears talking about stories from 20 years ago?”. The video features Lee Ji-hye, formerly of the co-ed group Sharp, reuniting with her dear friend Seo In-young.

After divorcing her husband whom she married in 2023, Seo In-young has been gaining attention through her personal YouTube channel, “Gaegwa Cheonseon Seo In-young.” Lee Ji-hye visited to share some of that positive energy, as Seo In-young’s channel has rapidly surpassed 700,000 subscribers. The two share a bond spanning over 20 years, dating back to Seo In-young’s debut with Jewelry in 2002.

Reflecting on her recovery after the divorce, Seo In-young shared, “Hitting rock bottom helped me realize who truly cares. I’ve decided not to hate those who didn’t reach out, though I’ll remember the slight disappointment I felt.”

When asked about her love life, Seo In-young confessed, “I have someone I’m ‘some-ing’ (seeing). Why shouldn’t I date?” Regarding remarriage, she explained, “I entered my first marriage thinking the other person would be devoted to me. It’s not that I don’t want to remarry, but I won’t do it immediately.” She expressed a much more cautious approach to marriage than before.

She also opened up about a personal struggle, saying, “My mother passed away before my first marriage, which is part of why I rushed into it. However, the marriage was so different from what I imagined that I suffered from depression.”

Regarding the praise for her YouTube channel, Seo In-young admitted, “I’m actually anxious because it’s doing so well. I’m used to being criticized, so seeing so many positive comments makes me nervous. I wonder why I feel this way.”

Because of her experiences, she is cautious about variety shows centered on divorce. “I wouldn’t want to be a participant on ‘DolSingles,’ but I’d love to be a host. Same for ‘Single’s Inferno.’ But I can’t do ‘Divorce Meditation Camp’ because I’d get too angry. I feel like I might actually hit the male contestants. I’ve never caused trouble for society, and I definitely don’t want to commit a crime,” she joked.

Despite her caution, Seo In-young hasn’t stopped dating. She revealed, “I’ve dated and broken up with three men since my divorce,” while emphasizing that she currently has a “some-guy.” Additionally, she teased a potential musical comeback, stating, “I’ve recorded about two songs,” leaving fans excited for her return to the stage.
