Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, and Heo Sung-tae are teaming up, combining “rusty” bodies with sharp instincts. “Fifties Professionals” is drawing attention as a “salty” action comedy about three men who start moving again during the second half of their lives.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama “Fifties Professionals,” premiering on the 22nd, tells the story of three men who may seem ordinary now but were once quite influential, only to be set in motion again by fate.
It promises a gritty yet comedic action ride featuring real professionals who have completed 50% of their life’s journey. Though beaten down by the world and physically worn out, their loyalty and instincts remain as strong as ever.
On the 12th, the production team released character posters for Jung Ho-myung (played by Shin Ha-kyun), Bong Je-soon (Oh Jung-se), and Kang Beom-ryong (Heo Sung-tae), along with a group poster featuring Kang Young-ae (Kim Shin-rok), Chairman Do (Kwon Yul), Ma Gong-bok (Lee Hak-joo), Park Mi-kyung (Han Ji-eun), and Yoo In-gu (Hyun Bong-sik).
The character posters capture the different starting points of the second act for Jung Ho-myung, Bong Je-soon, and Kang Beom-ryong. Their overflowing ambition contrasted with their aging physical conditions adds a hilarious touch, enhancing the unique comic vibe of “Fifties Professionals.”
First, Ho-myung looks relaxed while wearing a wrist guard. His line, “I’ll show you what a real pro is,” sparks curiosity about his hidden past and future exploits. Meanwhile, Je-soon grabs attention with a dynamic pose while wrapping a bandage around his knee.
Specifically, his line, “Fighting isn’t done with words,” makes fans wonder what will happen after he recovers his lost memories. Additionally, Beom-ryong, with a pain relief patch on his waist, shows off his undiminished charisma with the line, “My fist’s expiration date hasn’t passed.”
These glimpses raise expectations for their enduring presence and extraordinary moves despite the passage of time.

The group poster captures the tension as characters with different objectives gather in one space.
The complex relationships are hinted at through the diverse expressions of the characters: Jung Ho-myung, who has lived as a Chinese restaurant chef for 10 years while hiding his NIS background; Bong Je-soon, a North Korean agent who lost his memory 10 years ago; and Kang Beom-ryong, the second-in-command of the Huashan Sect who has been running a convenience store for 10 years.
The sharp atmosphere of Chairman Do and Yoo In-gu, who stand in opposition to them, and the cold expression of Prosecutor Kang Young-ae on the phone, signal the start of an unusual incident.
The wary looks between the characters heighten the tension and curiosity regarding “the incident of that day” 10 years ago and a missing “object.” Fans are eager to see how these characters, reunited after a decade, will clash and what the hidden truth will be.
“Fifties Professionals” premieres on the 22nd at 9:50 PM.
