Shin Ha-kyun Prioritizes Brain Youth Over Looks:

On the 16th, Shin Ha-kyun appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Weekend Yeon-seok Drama’.

During the episode, he named “sleep” as the most important thing in his life. He revealed, “I quit coffee and alcohol because of sleep,” adding that it’s been about five months. He continued, “I usually go to bed between 10 PM and 11 PM. I don’t even drink water after 6 PM because it wakes me up at night. Sleep is so important that I put a lot of effort into it.”

He also mentioned that he hardly looks at his phone before bed. Shin Ha-kyun shared that he has become a complete morning person, waking up between 6 AM and 7 AM even without an alarm.

Then came the balance game! When asked to choose between youthful looks or youthful organs at age 60, Shin Ha-kyun firmly chose organs. Specifically, he said he would choose the “brain” if he could only make one part young. He confessed, “There are times when words or memories don’t come to me, as if my hippocampus is damaged. For an actor, memorizing scripts is essential, so memory is truly important.”

When asked what he would do if he had a chance to go back to the past, he gave an unexpected answer. After pondering whether he could return or if he’d be meeting his past self, he laughed and decided, “I won’t go.” He shared his values on living in the moment, saying, “The present is what matters most. The future can change depending on what I do now.”

Shin Ha-kyun also shared his impressive morning routine: “I drink lukewarm water and take two spoons of olive oil upon waking up.” His breakfast consists of two fried eggs, tomato, apple, grapefruit, nuts, blueberries, and yogurt. He added, “I take a cold shower and stretch. Before lunch, I do 30 pull-ups, 70 push-ups, and a 3-minute plank,” leaving everyone amazed.

His hobbies are just as diverse. “I’ve enjoyed scuba diving, cycling, and hiking, and I love making things by hand,” he said, revealing his love for plastic models and Lego. He explained, “When I was young, they were too expensive to buy as much as I wanted, so I think that’s why I like them now. I always wanted them in front of the stationery store, and now that I’m older, I get to do it.”

Finally, when asked about the best way to relax, Shin Ha-kyun replied, “When I’m at home with no plans.” He smiled calmly, adding, “The time I spend at home with no schedule for the next day is the most healing.”
