SHINee is making a return! It has been a year since their digital single “Poet | Artist” released last May, and three years since their 8th full album “HARD” in 2023. Along with this, member Key is naturally returning to activities after an unexpected hiatus late last year. Key was caught up in the so-called “Injection Aunt” controversy last December.
At the time, Key faced significant hardship after it was revealed he had received treatment from an unlicensed practitioner known as the “Injection Aunt,” whom he believed to be a doctor. While it was confirmed that no illegal acts, such as illegal drug administration, took place, Key entered a period of self-reflection, stating, “I failed to look around me wisely,” and voluntarily stepped down from the programs he was appearing in.
As the “Injection Aunt” situation settles down, the general mood regarding Key’s return is overwhelmingly welcoming. Now that the confusion has cleared, there is a calm shift in perception, with many recognizing that “Key was also a victim.”
SHINee’s 6th mini album, “Atmosphere,” will feature six tracks, including the title song of the same name. SM Entertainment shared that while the previous work “HARD” focused on challenge, this album will showcase “the most SHINee-like” music, defined by sophistication.
Ahead of the new album release, SHINee will also hold a solo concert at the KSPO DOME in Seoul for three days, from the 29th to the 31st.
