Lee Su-gyeong has finally received a debt collection notice.
In the 9th episode of the KBS 2TV mini-series ‘Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri’ (Directed by Choi Yeon-soo / Written by Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji) aired on May 21, Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) goes all out with Im Ju-hyeong (played by Lee Seo-hwan) to protect the village of Yeonri-ri from a crisis.
Previously, Seong Tae-hoon distributed free fertilizer to residents, promoting mutual cooperation between the food giant ‘Mat Story’ and Yeonri-ri. However, the village was shocked the next day when a strange phenomenon occurred, and the fields of Yeonri-ri were covered in white mycelium. Im Ju-hyeong and other residents feared that a past nightmare might be returning.
Seong Tae-hoon struggled to calm the agitated residents and solve the problem. He pleaded with Im Ju-hyeong, saying, “I’ll find a way somehow, so please buy me some time so the villagers don’t call the disinfection truck right away. I will definitely save those fields.” Drawing on his experience as a researcher at a large corporation, he fought to find a solution. Trusting Seong Tae-hoon’s sincerity, Im Ju-hyeong joined him in investigating the site to track down the cause.
Seong Tae-hoon tried to ask the ‘Mat Story’ lab for help, but he was bothered by Executive Director Bae’s (played by Bae Gi-beom) suspicious attitude. Ultimately, he decided to solve the problem independently by requesting a soil analysis from an external agency.
Meanwhile, Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Su-gyeong), who had been staying at the village head’s house after leaving home, was surprised to learn that the food brought by Im Bo-mi (played by Choi Gyu-ri) was made by Seong Ji-cheon (played by Lee Jin-woo). She expressed complex emotions while envying the daily life of Im Ju-hyeong’s family. Upon hearing that the youngest, Seong Ji-gu (played by Yang Woo-hyeok), was sick, Jo Mi-ryeo rushed home, and the children found comfort in their mother’s return, creating a touching moment. After their fight, Seong Tae-hoon and Jo Mi-ryeo tried to understand each other’s perspectives and slowly began to repair their relationship. Seong Ji-cheon, who made a significant life choice, reached out to Jo Mi-ryeo first to request a conversation, hinting at a stronger family bond.
However, at the end of the episode, tension spiked again when a court notice demanding debt repayment arrived for Jo Mi-ryeo. Jo Mi-ryeo’s pale face hinted at new conflicts for the Seong family. Meanwhile, Seong Tae-hoon and Im Ju-hyeong looked at the soil analysis results for the Yeonri-ri fields, leaving viewers curious about the next episode.
Meanwhile, the episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 1.6% according to Nielsen Korea.
