In the final episode of SBS Plus’s variety show ‘상남자의 여행법 in 규슈’ Season 1, which aired on the 12th, Kim Jong Kook and Choo Sung Hoon visited Tenmonkan, the biggest downtown area in Kagoshima, Japan.
The duo stopped by a coffee shop in the shopping district. Kim Jong Kook opened his wallet, saying, “Since hyung bought ramen yesterday, I’ll treat you to coffee today.” Choo Sung Hoon teased him back, saying, “Since Jong Kook is paying, I’m going for the most expensive one!”
After Choo Sung Hoon, a married senior, mentioned buying a gift for his wife, Kim Jong Kook was spotted lingering around the cafe’s merchandise corner while waiting for their drinks.
Kim Jong Kook pondered over a gift for his wife, noting, “This can only be bought in Japan. I think I should get something like this.” When the production team showed interest, he quickly tried to play it cool, explaining, “I’m just planning to put it at home.”
When the staff called him a “romantic,” Kim Jong Kook got flustered and denied it, which left everyone in stitches. He also went on a shopping spree for sleep masks for his mother, something he had been searching for since the first day of the trip. Seeing the amount he bought, Choo Sung Hoon joked, “He’ll be using those for a year!”
