Singer Sung Si Kyung, who successfully shed 10kg, has shared his top food recommendations for those on a diet!
On his YouTube channel, Sung Si Kyung mentioned, “Proteins that you chew, such as eggs, sashimi, and meat, feel like they don’t make you gain weight even if you eat your fill,” adding that “carbohydrates make you gain weight as soon as you eat them.”
He revealed, “I kept eating white-fleshed fish until about half of my stomach was full. That way, I felt full but felt like I wasn’t gaining weight.”
Previously, Sung Si Kyung pointed to flatfish as the core of his diet plan. He shared his secret tip, saying, “Dipping flatfish sashimi in salt is delicious,” and noted that “you can eat much more fish if you dip it in salt.” Looking back on his success, he shared that he survived the first month mainly on eggs, sweet potatoes, flatfish sashimi, and supplements, reportedly losing 7kg in that first month alone.
Flatfish is indeed a low-fat, high-protein food, with less than 2g of fat per 100g, making it great for dieting. It also contains Omega-3 and fatty acids that support cardiovascular health and brain function, as well as Vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus to boost immunity.
Sung Si Kyung also suggested, “I think eating two boiled eggs before a meal is a good idea,” explaining that it helps prevent blood sugar spikes. A blood sugar spike occurs when blood glucose levels rise sharply and then drop quickly. Protein helps the secretion of ‘GLP-1,’ a hormone that assists insulin secretion, which positively impacts blood sugar regulation.
