T-ARA’s Hahm Eun-jung found herself hilariously bewildered by the ever-evolving world of K-pop idol makeup trends!
On May 13, a video titled ‘5th Generation Idol Challenge’ dropped on Hahm Eun-jung’s official channel.
In the video, Hahm Eun-jung bravely tried out the latest trending makeup styles, quickly realizing the *huge* generational gap between 2nd and 5th gen idol aesthetics.
Before her transformation began, Hahm Eun-jung mused, “There are so many styles, from sparkling glossy looks to baked-on finishes and clear expressions.” But she quickly added, “I’m definitely more of a 2nd generation makeup kind of girl!”
As the makeup session continued, Hahm Eun-jung’s expressions became increasingly priceless! She looked particularly awkward seeing the boldly emphasized *aegyo-sal* (under-eye fat) and blush extending all the way to the tip of her nose. She confessed, “I’m not sure if this is pretty yet,” and “I guess I’ve really drifted far from the trends.” The makeup artist, noticing her priceless reactions, hilariously poked fun, asking, “Isn’t your expression a bit *too* bad?” which sparked laughter.
Hahm Eun-jung flat-out rejected the heavily emphasized under-eye line, declaring, “I don’t like it!” She explained her dilemma, saying, “It looks pretty from afar, but up close, the lines are just too distinct.”
When the artist clarified, “All idols do it this way. It’s a style actors usually dislike,” Hahm Eun-jung playfully quipped, “Well, I’m both an idol and an actress, so I guess I’ve become a *true* actress now. I must have caught ‘actor’s disease’!”
For those who might not know, Hahm Eun-jung debuted back in 2009 with the iconic group T-ARA, captivating fans with smash hits like ‘Roly-Poly,’ ‘Day by Day,’ ‘Crazy Because of You,’ ‘Cry Cry,’ ‘Lovey-Dovey,’ and ‘Lies.’ Beyond her idol career, Hahm Eun-jung is also a talented actress, having graced the screens in notable dramas such as ‘Coffee House,’ ‘Master of Study,’ ‘Dream High,’ ‘All Kinds of Daughters-in-Law,’ ‘Lovely Horribly,’ ‘Be My Dream Family,’ and ‘The Queen’s House.’
