Taeyong Opens Up About Underwater Filming Struggles:

NCT member Taeyong shared a funny story from his music video shoot following his discharge from the Navy.

On May 22, Taeyong appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Zip Daesung’ alongside BIGBANG’s Daesung, showing off his great chemistry and wit ahead of his solo comeback.

Taeyong revealed some behind-the-scenes details from his new music video. He shared, “I had to swim on a cold day. During the underwater shoot, people naturally assumed I’d be great at swimming because I was in the Navy.” He then sparked laughter by clarifying, “I was in the Navy, but I had a land-based position!”

Taeyong opened up about the difficulties of filming in water 4 meters deep. “Out of pride, I said I’d go right in, but it was so hard and I couldn’t even hear anything. I even had to act like I was calm underwater,” he explained. He added, “The music video concept is sexy and decadent, but since I had just been discharged, there was no ‘decadence’ left in me. It was difficult because I still had the mindset of a soldier.”

Taeyong enlisted in 2024 as a cultural promotion soldier in the Navy Band and Honor Guard and was honorably discharged in December 2025. He released his new album ‘WYLD’ on the 18th.
