A past video of entertainer Jung Jun-ha reacting to news about a cancer patient he sponsored has resurfaced, sparking a wave of stories from people who received his help.

Recently, a video titled “Jung Jun-ha getting emotional after hearing news about a cancer patient he sponsored” has been circulating on online communities and YouTube. The clip is an edit from the 2011 tvN variety show ‘Star Special Lecture Show’.

In the video, when Jung Jun-ha asks, “Is the older brother doing well?” the woman replies, “He is in heaven now,” leaving Jung Jun-ha speechless and in tears.

As the video gained attention, comments from those who actually received help from Jung Jun-ha began to pour in. One netizen shared, “A friend’s child also received sponsorship. They were struggling with the high cost of a bone marrow transplant, and the person the hospital connected them with was Jung Jun-ha.” They added, “Although the child eventually became a star in the sky, we were truly grateful.”

Another netizen, who identified as a former nurse at Samsung Seoul Hospital, wrote, “He was famous at the hospital. Jung Jun-ha was the only celebrity who didn’t bring reporters with him.” They recalled, “He always came with his manager, bringing loads of food to spend a long time playing with the children in the pediatric ward. He volunteered quietly so as not to disturb the hospital staff.”

Other heartwarming stories followed, including accounts of him attending parties for children who completed cancer treatment, MCing events for free, providing funds for incubator treatment, and taking photos and playing with kids in the hospital auditorium.

SBS Entertainment News quoted a close acquaintance of Jung Jun-ha, stating, “Jung Jun-ha really hated making his good deeds into news articles. He often said, ‘Why bother letting people know?'”

The source added that he has been supporting the Samsung Seoul Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center for about 20 years, providing not only financial aid but also visiting the hospital to prepare performances, gifts, and talent donation stages.
