The Weeknd to Headline Hyundai Card Super Concert 28!

Hyundai Card Super Concert is making a grand return this autumn after three years, and this time, it is bringing the one and only The Weeknd!

Since its launch in 2007, Hyundai Card Super Concert has been a legendary cultural marketing brand, elevating Korea’s concert scene by bringing in global icons like Beyoncé, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.

Hyundai Card announced on the 11th that “Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 The Weeknd” will take place on October 7 and 8 at 7:45 PM at the Goyang Stadium.

This will be only the third time in the history of the Super Concert series to host a massive show for 100,000 fans, following Coldplay in 2017 and Bruno Mars in 2023.

The star of the show, The Weeknd, is one of the most influential artists of the 21st century, bringing “Alternative R&B”—a blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic music—into the mainstream. He has consistently set new records in music streaming, becoming the first artist to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify in 2023. His hit “Blinding Lights” even entered the Guinness World Records after becoming the first song to top 5 billion streams on Spotify last August.

The Weeknd first rose to fame with three mixtapes released in 2011. Both the public and critics were captivated by his unique musical style and unmatched vocals, leading to Grammy wins for “Best Urban Contemporary Album” with “Beauty Behind the Madness” and “Starboy”.

The 2019 release of “Blinding Lights” catapulted him to global superstardom. It became the first single in Billboard history to remain in the Top 10 for an entire year and was ranked #1 on the “All Time Hot 100” chart in 2021.

His success continued with “After Hours” (2020) and “Dawn FM” (2022), both of which hit #1 on Apple Music charts in over 100 countries. His latest release, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” also debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart last year.

This concert is part of The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn” stadium tour, which has seen 153 shows and approximately 7.5 million attendees since July 2022, making it one of the most successful tours by a male solo artist ever.

This marks The Weeknd’s second time performing for Korean fans. While he showcased a fresh reinterpretation of R&B during the 2018 “Hyundai Card Culture Project,” he returns now as a global icon ready to unveil his trendy and original musical world. Adding to the excitement, the popular Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts will be joining as the opening act!

A representative from Hyundai Card stated, “This will be a precious opportunity to experience a performance of a completely different scale and significance, featuring The Weeknd, the most influential pop star of the 21st century, at the peak of his career.”

Tickets will be available through NOL Ticket (nol.interpark.com/ticket, 1544-1555). Pre-sales for Hyundai Card members start on the 20th, with general sales opening on the 21st. Ticket prices vary for reserved seating, while standing tickets are 189,000 KRW and the Standing Early Entry Package is 469,000 KRW. A 10% discount (up to 4 tickets per person) is available for payments made with a Hyundai Card.

The show is restricted to those aged 19 and older. For more details, check the Hyundai Card DIVE app, website, or official Instagram account.
