A famous actress is sparking controversy after a netizen filed a complaint regarding the construction of her detached house in Pyeongchang-dong.
Recently, a long post written by a netizen, referred to as “A,” has been gaining attention online.
A, who lives in the US and was visiting Korea, claimed to have witnessed the construction site near where their parents reside in Pyeongchang-dong. A expressed frustration, stating, “The state of the construction next door is truly unbelievable. I heard actress OOO has been renovating for months to move in, but construction vehicles have taken over the alley in front of the house, making it difficult for even one car to pass. The area is filled with construction waste and dust, and the neighborhood isn’t even being cleaned properly.”
A continued, “My parents have been silently enduring it for the sake of keeping the peace with neighbors, but as their child watching from the side, it’s absolutely absurd. At first, they said it would be finished by mid-April, but now they’ve changed their story to mid-May, or they say they don’t even know when it will end.” A criticized this behavior as a “sense of privilege” stemming from celebrity status, adding, “Before building a fancy house, one should have the minimum common sense and courtesy toward their neighbors. Just because my parents are staying quiet doesn’t mean their suffering is acceptable.”
The actress suspected of being involved had previously shared updates on her personal channel in March about building a detached house in Pyeongchang-dong. As the controversy spread and criticism grew, the actress’s side sent a direct apology message to A. A stated, “The person involved visited in person and promised to improve the parking and waste issues,” adding, “I hope there are no more unpleasant encounters in the future,” effectively settling the situation.
