Tragedy Strikes Guest on ‘Ask Anything’: From Father’s Death to Suing Her Brother

On the May 11th episode of KBS Joy’s variety show ‘Ask Anything’, a female guest who is currently caring for her mother opened up about her difficult daily life, trapped in a cycle of endless family conflict and guilt.

The tragedies didn’t stop there. After undergoing back surgery at the guest’s suggestion, her mother suffered a severe complication known as ‘Cauda Equina Syndrome’ due to a medical accident.

Her younger brother blamed her, saying, “You’re the one who suggested the surgery, so you take responsibility.” Overwhelmed by guilt, the guest devoted herself to nursing her mother, neglecting her own health in the process.

The guest eventually sued her brother, but her mother opposed it, questioning how she could sue her own sibling. The brother then paid a settlement of 18 million won without consulting anyone and received a fine. Even so, the mother continued to demand that the guest provide care, arguing that her son needed to focus on earning money.

The hosts pointed out that the most important thing is for the entire family to regain their composure, adding, “Is this a time to be swayed by emotions? From a third-party perspective, no one is acting sensibly or making rational decisions.”

Finally, Seo Jang-hoon scolded the physically frail guest, asking, “Look at your own condition. Are you really in a position to feel sorry for anyone?” He urged her to let go of the guilt and prioritize her own well-being.
