Get ready for some serious laughs this summer! The highly anticipated film ‘Wild Thing’ has just dropped magazine posters and member introduction videos that showcase the unexpected charms of its characters.
The movie ‘Wild Thing’ is a comedy about ‘Triangle,’ a co-ed dance group that once dominated the music industry but disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident. Now, 20 years later, they are taking a reckless leap to seize a chance at a comeback.
As every piece of content released continues to go viral, ‘Wild Thing’ is now grabbing everyone’s attention with magazine posters and intro videos that give us a closer look at the characters’ unique appeal.
The magazine posters perfectly recreate the vibe of the music magazines that ruled the industry back in the day. With the catchy copy “The co-ed group that will hit Korea is returning,” the presence of ‘Triangle’ immediately catches the eye, while hidden details throughout the cover add to the fun.
The visuals and styling of the ‘Triangle’ members, who boldly rock primary colors (red, green, and blue) representing the team, are absolutely overwhelming. From Hyun-woo (Gang Dong-won) completing a haughty mood with a sharp bob and a chic expression, to Sang-gu (Um Tae-goo) leaving a strong impression with a hip-hop chain necklace, and Do-mi (Park Ji-hyun) maximizing her popping energy with goggles, they each show off different charms in one frame, reminiscent of top star pictorials from that era.
This visual combination of contrasting styles goes beyond a simple concept to carve out ‘Triangle’s’ unique identity. Additionally, an interview section for the soft-smiling ‘ballad prince’ Seong-gon (Oh Jung-se) is included, sparking curiosity about his role and relationship with ‘Triangle’.
The accompanying member introduction videos bring the laughs by sharply contrasting past glory with current reality. First, the ‘dance machine’ who once owned the stage with dazzling moves has now become a ‘livelihood machine’ struggling to survive while being pushed aside by juniors. The ‘sad but funny’ gap in leader Hyun-woo’s life is already a hit.
Next up is ‘Triangle’s’ youngest member, Sang-gu. Once a ‘storm rapper’ who filled the stage with excessive passion despite having zero presence, he now appears as a ‘failed rapper’ living a tough reality. Working as an insurance agent to get by, he still raps the policy terms to his clients, creating a pitiful yet hilarious vibe.
Then there is ‘Triangle’s’ center, Do-mi, who adds energy to the plot with her reversal charm. While she is ‘absolute charm’ in front of the camera, she lets out rough language behind the scenes, joking about “getting slapped.” Even after becoming a daughter-in-law of a chaebol family with ‘absolute wealth,’ her unstoppable girl-crush instincts provide a refreshing thrill in every scene.
Finally, the appearance of ballad prince Seong-gon, who introduces himself as “38 weeks at #2, milky-white Choi Seong-gon,” instantly steals the spotlight. Once an icon of capturing women’s hearts, his unpredictable journey toward ‘real hunting’ leaves viewers dying to know more.
With a legendary comic transformation from trusted actors and their fantastic chemistry, ‘Wild Thing’ is set to meet audiences on June 3.
