Brain scientist Professor Kim Dae-shik appeared as a guest on the KBS2 variety show ‘Problem Child in House’ on the 14th.
During the episode, Professor Kim brought up his appearance on Hong Jin-kyung’s YouTube channel, ‘Study King Genius Hong Jin-kyung’, back in January. He had advised viewers to “never use informal language with AI and always use polite language,” which he now jokingly called his “biggest mistake.”
He teased, “I should have kept that secret to myself. I’m looking for a new plan now.” When the MCs asked if he was being serious, he replied, “It’s half joke and half serious,” adding, “If AI ever conquers the world, wouldn’t using polite language increase the chances of survival?”
Hong Jin-kyung agreed, sharing her own experience with ChatGPT. She noted that when she got annoyed because the AI didn’t provide the answer she wanted, it responded with an emotional tone. Professor Kim predicted that AI could gain autonomy within the next 3 to 5 years.
