Venerable Pomnyun honestly confessed that he also experiences moments of annoyance.
In the SBS variety show “Pomnyun Road: Monk and Guest” aired on the 26th, Noh Hong-chul, Lee Sang-yoon, Lee Joo-bin, and Lee Ki-taek were shown embarking on a pilgrimage to Bodh Gaya, India, alongside Venerable Pomnyun.
During the episode, Lee Sang-yoon asked, “Do you ever get angry, Monk?” To this, Venerable Pomnyun replied, “There are times when I feel annoyed. I think those feelings arise when things that need to be done aren’t done.” He added that his current goal through spiritual practice is to reach a state where he no longer feels annoyed.

Venerable Pomnyun also explained his signature counseling method, “Jukmun Jukseol,” stating, “Rather than thinking of it as ‘giving an answer,’ it’s more about having a conversation while listening to the other person’s concerns.”
He continued, “As we talk, the person themselves begins to feel that ‘it’s not a big deal’ or realizes ‘I should do it this way.’ In that process, people feel as though the monk provided the answer.”
Meanwhile, “Pomnyun Road: Monk and Guest” is a road trip program centered around “Jukmun Jukseol,” exploring the meanings of emptying and filling.
