T-cast E-channel’s ‘Brave Detectives 5’ has left viewers in shock by exposing the hideous reality of criminals who have pushed past the limits of human cruelty.
In the 7th episode aired on the 8th, the full story of the ‘Apartment Mother and Two Sons Fire Death Case’ from 2009, which once terrified the entire nation, was revealed in detail.
What initially appeared to be a typical fire accident took a sudden and brutal turn into a murder case when sharp weapon stab wounds were discovered on the bodies of the woman and her four-year-old child.
On the day of the incident, the husband, Mr. Kim (pseudonym), was seen wailing while watching his home burn down. However, he couldn’t escape the sharp eyes of the detectives. In stark contrast to his grief-stricken appearance, the ends of his eyebrows and parts of his hair were singed.
Mr. Kim confidently claimed an alibi, stating he had returned home early in the morning after finishing his shift. However, after testimony from nearby merchants and the discovery of suspicious clues, he eventually confessed to the crime.
The revealed truth was horrifying. Mr. Kim, who had been maintaining an extramarital affair, claimed he committed the crime impulsively during an argument with his wife over his parents’ financial problems.
He confessed, “I got angry and committed the crime when my wife criticized my parents because my father had secretly used her credit card and failed to pay it back.”
The details of the crime were even more gruesome. After murdering his wife, Mr. Kim gave a heartless statement: “The first child woke up and started crying, so I killed him. The second child remained asleep, so I covered him with a blanket before setting the fire.”

The perpetrators infuriated viewers with nonsensical motives, claiming things like “I killed them because I was annoyed by how they looked” and “I got angry because the voice sounded like the boyfriend of a woman I liked.”
The ringleader, the younger brother, was sentenced to life imprisonment, while the older brother who participated received 15 years in prison.
